Last week i was my 19th birthday. I got the privilege of spending my birthday doing tons of homework. I spent literally six hours straight on homework. It had to be done though. Little things like your birthday are the things i that never occurred to me how much i would miss. It was so weird coming "home" from class and not having my parents there to tell me happy birthday for the first time in my life. It was weird not having any presents or cards waiting for me to open. It was weird not going out to dinner with the family to celebrate it. My mom and dad still called to wish me a happy birthday but it just wasnt the same. This was my first birthday where it felt like every other day. I guess this is what it feels like to become an adult. Its very different.
hey! Belated Happy Birthday.I remember I did wish you in class. I know how it feels like when you have no one to spend your special moments with. Something very special like your birthday. I the english class I observed your NOT-SO-HAPPY face. Your face clearly reflected that you miss your family. The fact is, you have to get used to it now. your every special occasions will be attended your loved ones only through phone calls. Cheer Up!

Hey.. I think I know how you feel, and it's terrible. I have my birthday coming up, and I'm not at all excited for it. I won't have friends and family waking me from my sleep at 12 am and wishing me a happy birthday. It will never be the same I guess. But try looking towards the brighter side : you've got new friends, a whole new life with freedom of choices. Bitter for now, sweet for later. It's going to get better team-mate, look forward to it :)
ReplyDeleteIt is hard being away from your family for your birthday. Every year since I've been at Purdue, my birthday has fallen on the same day/weekend as the first required staff meeting of the year. Nothing says "happy birthday" like a meeting!
ReplyDeleteOohh I'm so sorry about it Nick :( I feel so sad about it, specially cause I know how it feels to suffer on your birthday... Last year I had to spend my birthday not only doing my awful school homework but also finiching college applications, it was so bad, I was there with my family, but my duties kept me away from them, so I could not celebrate, and it was like the most painful birthday ever.
