Hi! My name is Margot Keimig! Thank you for taking the time to come read about me, when you probably have a lot of other things to do right now! I lived seventeen years of my life in Morton, Illinois. If you have no idea where that is (and most people don’t), it is in Central Illinois about fifteen minutes outside of Peoria, Illinois. Morton is famous because it claims to be the Pumpkin Capital of the World, because that is where the Libby’s Pumpkin Plant is open. Every September there is a pumpkin festival, with a giant mechanical pumpkin chucker (it is kind of a big deal, just to let you know). The summer before my senior year of high school I moved to Valparaiso, Indiana, which was a big change. Now I am here at Purdue University and I love it. I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. I have known since the summer after eighth grade that I wanted to be an engineer. I attended an engineering camp at a local university and that is how I knew I loved engineering and it was definitely the major for me! I plan to go into Agricultural and Biological Engineering with a concentration Food Process Engineering (it is quite a mouthful I know). I cannot wait to start on major and I am so pumped. During the next summers here at Purdue, I hope to become involved in study abroad and internships. I plan on becoming super involved in the Purdue University community, joining the Greek system, going to lots of football and basketball games, and having an overall amazing time at Purdue! Well, that is a brief intro about me, and know you can go and finish reading the rest of the blog!
