Interview
so I just got back from conducting my interview. I was actually surprised at how well it went. I am generally a shy person who doesnt do well in awkward social situations. But the interview went pretty well. I stepped into the professor's office and suddenly felt comfortable about what I was doing. The professor I interviewed was a nice guy and very helpful. He had tons of information for me and even took me to one of his labs to give me a demonstration of something! I think the reason it went over so well, is because we both shared a common interest in the topic. It was easy for us to relate and understand each other. He provided me with the necessary information I was looking for to write this interview essay, as well as information that could have a possible effect on my career path...

ReplyDeleteI think it's hard to do interview, especially for a shy people. In order to do the interview, people need to prepare many interesting questions and make sure the process is good enough. I think interviewers must response quickly and the interviewees would like to talk about more things. It's good for you to have this experience! As you said, you got lots of useful information that could have a possible effect on your career. It's awesome! Professors have direct relationship with specific engineering fields. They have the first hand information and they know the advantages and disadvantages of their majors. It's great to talk with professors! My English assignment is make website and video for a community. This is cool too. I learned how to use the Movie Maker and I knew many helpful websites, such as Wix and Jamendo. I prefer these kinds of assignments than the analysis essay and I am willing to spend lots of time on them because the process brings fun to me.(ENGL 106)

ReplyDelete@Liang: You are definitely right about working with professors. They have all the knowledge that we need it seems like. They know the pros and cons of their majors because they have been in our shoes before. They had to make the decisions we have to. So they have been in our shoes before. And your english assignment sounds like a lot of fun! I would love to make a website and learn to use that movie maker software. Good luck with it!
Glad you conducted an interview and it went great for you! Not in my case.) I still haven’t found anybody, I sent interview request to a professor from School of ME, but he did not respond. Then I asked Anne, she recommended another expert from ABE. I emailed him on Friday, hope I will get response tomorrow.) (Jayne)
