International
Sitting through all the various presentations in class, one message has really stood out to me. Get international experience. It doesnt matter how you do it, for how long, or where. Just do it. Before even taking this course, I had thought about the possibility of studying abroad. I had gone to a few call out meetings and the study abroad fair earlier in the year and there was a spark of interest. The number one place I would want to go is Australia. One reason is because Australia is an English speaking country and English is the only language I speak. Another reason, is because my dad was in the navy and got to travel the world. He said Australia was his favorite place he went to, and told me all kinds of stories about it. I would probably do a semsters worth of studying while there, and at the same time get to see a new part of the world, for I have never left the country. This would be helping me academically by getting courses finished, and personally by giving me an unforgettable experience.

I think Australia is a wonderful place for traveling. It has the largest Coral reef in the world and the beaches in Australia are very famous. Also, Australia has many unique animals, such as kangaroo and koala. The indigenous culture of Australia is attractive too. I think it worth to spend a semester studying in Australia.(ENGR 103)
ReplyDeleteJust going abroad anywhere for however long is a great opportunity. That is definitely a great. I did not really consider it from that perspective. Going abroad is such an incredible opportunity you should not pass it up. You talked about all the different callouts and study abroad fairs. I think this is one of the great advantages at Purdue. They try to get as many students as possible involved in the program. When I was choosing I a college, study abroad programs was something I was considering. With Purdue, they always talked about study abroad programs. The programs were so accessible and that was a definite advantage to Purdue. I have wanted to travel to France for a long time. My grandpa visited France when he was in the army and would tell me stories about it. That is similar to your dad’s experiences and how he told you about them. I really enjoy hearing other people’s travel experiences. You can learn so much about a country in this way (and sometimes they are absolutely hilarious). It would definitely be awesome to visit Australia. I heard it is beautiful there. You made some great points in this blog. (engr 103)
